Andrew K Behnke, CPA, CA, CISA, CIA, CISSP, CRISC

Andrew is proud to have been born and raised in Winnipeg. Besides earning his Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) at the University of Manitoba he also received his Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) designation in 2001. This was followed by earning a number of other designations, namely Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC).

After spending almost 16 years with Deloitte LLP in Winnipeg, focusing on assisting clients in risk advisory services, Andrew moved out of Professional Services and spent 9 years in Internal Audit at both Air Canada and Canada Life. In this capacity, he helped both organizations in the pursuit of understanding the risks they face and giving assurance on the processes and controls in place to mitigate those risks.

His past experiences and education have now brought him back to Public Practice as a Risk Advisory Consultant looking to help Fort Group’s clients in better understanding their risks with the ubiquitous use of technology and data within their processes.

Andrew believes in supporting his community and therefore currently volunteers on the Boards of not-for-profit organizations including Camp Nutimik, Camp Nutimik Foundation and the Rosamunde Summer Music Academy. In the past he also participated in industry not-for-profit organizations serving in Board leadership positions for the ISACA Winnipeg Chapter and the Winnipeg Chapter of the Institute for Internal Auditors.

Family life keeps Andrew busy with his four children, an English Cream Golden Retriever and his lovely wife, Sharla. A recent love of hiking has had the family gallivanting all over southern Manitoba in search of the best hikes to not only showcase everything the Province has to offer but also to challenge them physically. When not hiking, Andrew loves smoking a brisket and other meats on his Traeger and enjoying a beverage outside on his deck.
