The Federal Government released updates on several of their existing COVID-19 benefit programs as well as details of two new programs:
Tourism and Hospitality Recovery Program (THRP), and
Hardest-Hit Business Recovery Program (HHBRP)
These programs, which will benefit companies that have at least a 40% reduction in revenue, will be in effect until May 7, 2022 and replace the existing Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS) and the Canada Emergency Rent Subsidy (CERS) which will be in effect until October 23, 2021 (which is the end of Period 21 for CEWS and Period 14 for CERS).
The Canada Recovery Hiring Program has been extended to May 7, 2022.
Additionally, the Province of Manitoba has released a grant program called the Digital Manitoba Initiative (DMI), which may provide up to $25,000 in grant money to successful applicants that have or are looking to improve their digital presence.
